Private · peer-to-peer
own your machine.
The private, low-latency link between your devices: use a spare computer as a second screen for your Mac, even across networks. It's in active development, peer-to-peer and private by default, and free on your LAN.
built different
what makes it different
True peer-to-peer over QUIC
Media flows directly between your devices over QUIC — peer-to-peer by default, a managed relay only when a direct path isn't possible.
quinn · hole-punch · STUNGPU all the way
Frames decode and render GPU→screen via wgpu. The control panel never touches a video frame.
wgpu · Metal · Direct3DAny hardware encode
Built to use the encoder you have — not locked to one vendor.
NVENC · VideoToolbox · AMFYour devices, live presence
Sign in, see your registered devices with real-time presence, connect to one.
works todayPasswordless sign-in
SSO (Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook) or a 6-digit email code. No password to leak.
works todayPrivate by design
Your screen stays between your devices, end-to-end encrypted — no third party sees it, even when a relay forwards the packets.
P2P by default · E2Ehow it works
three steps, then you are in control
- 01
Sign in
Authenticate with Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, or a 6-digit email code. No password to create or remember.
- 02
See your devices
Your registered devices appear with live presence. Green means online and ready — no manual IP hunting.
- 03
Connect, peer-to-peer
Select a device and connect. Media is designed to flow directly over QUIC, peer-to-peer by default — a managed relay steps in only if no direct path is possible (streaming engine in active development).
file sharing
same P2P core, as a CLI
Need to move a file, not a screen? The same peer-to-peer core ships as a CLI. Generate a 6-char code on one end, share it to the other — no accounts required, no cloud storage.
# on the receiving machine
spegla collect↳ prints a 6-char code, e.g. X7K2MQ
# on the sending machine
spegla share X7K2MQ ./dir↳ send to the collector
private by design
your machine, your data
Spegla connects your devices directly, peer-to-peer over QUIC by default — your screen stays end-to-end encrypted, so no third party sees it, even when a managed relay forwards the packets. Built and maintained by Klura. Auth, device registry, and the file-sharing CLI work today; the streaming engine is in active development.
